FSC at the IUCN World Conservation Congress (WCC) 2016
Tuesday, 23 August 2016
The IUCN World Conservation Congress is the world’s largest conservation event. This year’s event will be held on 1–10 September in Hawaii. The event aims to improve how we manage our natural environment for human, social, and economic development.
FSC – in partnership with other leading organizations – will be taking part in several congress activities including workshops, knowledge cafés, poster presentations, and formal and informal discussions. We have also a dedicated booth (#1016) where visitors can learn more about FSC, including the latest developments.
Click here to learn more about FSC activities at WCC, starting on 2 September with a Knowledge Café on Impacts of Forest Management Certification, and including a workshop on 5 September on Ecosystem Services Markets.
Additionally, FSC is participating at the Members’ Assembly in the category ‘international nongovernmental organizations’. This represents a unique opportunity for us to contribute towards the progress of international conventions and environmental, economic, and social decision-making.
Please visit the ‘FSC at IUCN’ section of our website for regular updates, including the launch of dedicated publications.
