New Risk Assessments Now Available

Approved FSC risk assessments for India, Lao People´s Democratic Republic, Republic of Korea, and Ukraine are now available.

FSC risk assessments determine the risk of sourcing unacceptable material according to the five controlled wood categories. The assessments will be used by organizations for sourcing controlled wood following the standard FSC-STD-40-005 Requirements for Sourcing FSC Controlled Wood.

Additional controlled wood categories for the following countries were approved on 15 December 2017:

  • India (Categories 3 and 4). This risk assessment is now complete and shall be used in implementing V3-1 of the standard.
  • Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Categories 1-5). This risk assessment is now complete and shall be used in implementing V3-1 of the standard.
  • Republic of Korea (Categories 1-5). This risk assessment is now complete and shall be used in implementing V3-1 of the standard.
  • Ukraine (Categories 1-5). This risk assessment is now complete and shall be used in implementing V3-1 of the standard.
