New Interpretations of Controlled Wood Standards Now Available
Tuesday, 16 January 2018
New interpretations regarding controlled wood for both chain of custody standards and controlled wood standards are available, and are effective from 16 January 2018.
An interpretation is a formal clarification provided by FSC on requirements included in documents of the FSC normative framework.
The interpretations should be taken into account when implementing the chain of custody or controlled wood standards to which each interpretation applies. The following standards are impacted:
· FSC-STD-20-011 V4-0 Chain of Custody Evaluations
· FSC-STD-20-012 V1-1Standard for Evaluation of FSC Controlled Wood in Forest Management Enterprises
· FSC-STD-30-010 V2-0 FSC Controlled Wood Standard for Forest Management Enterprises
· FSC-STD-40-005 V3-1 Requirements for Sourcing FSC Controlled Wood
The new interpretations clarify several topics related to controlled wood, so it is recommended that certificate holders and certification bodies read the documents for more details.
