Effective 1 July 2018 are a set of international generic indicators (IGIs) that address the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions principles; intact forest landscapes; free, prior, and informed consent (FPIC); ecosystem services; and transaction verification.

Standard setters are required to incorporate all new IGIs into their respective processes to develop national forest stewardship standards where a second consultation has not taken place. If your national forest stewardship standard has been approved, the new IGIs would have to be incorporated by 30 June 2020.
