FSC is Seeking Applications from Certified Group Managers for International Pilot
Tuesday, 31 July 2018
FSC will test whether including a forestry contractor to a group of private forest owners who have already achieved FSC certification will decrease the costs of managing their forests responsibly.
The New Approaches to FSC Certification for Smallholders and Communities project is seeking expressions of interest from experienced managers of groups of private forest owners or communities who have already achieved FSC certification and are interested in participating in a 12-month pilot to implement a new type of group model that aims to cut the costs and complexity of FSC certification. This model foresees that the forestry contractor would share responsibility for ensuring the certified forests are in conformance with the group standard, FSC-STD-30-005 FSC standard for group entities in forest management groups. Requirements for participating in a pilot test are included in the ‘call for expression of interest – pilot testing Type III group model.’
This work is led by the New Approaches to FSC Certification for Smallholders and Communities (New Approaches project). For more information on New Approaches, please contact Vera Santos at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have any question regarding the pilot, please contact Lauri Ilola, topic lead for forestry contractors; for New Approaches project, at email@example.com.
Download and send a completed application form to firstname.lastname@example.org before 25 August 2018. Upon submitting your form, you will receive a confirmation of receipt including whether we require further clarification or additional information from you. A staff member of the FSC New Approaches project will get in touch with short-listed applicants only. On 25 September 2018, you will be informed if you have been selected as one of the sites for pilot testing.
