HOW FSC® CONTRIBUTES TO THE IUCN PROGRAMME 2017–2020

A presentation of FSC’s work in light of the three areas of IUCN’s draft work programme

HOW WILL FSC® CONTRIBUTE TO THE IUCN PROGRAMME 2017–2020?FSC has introduced forest management certification in all parts of the world. It has become a key tool for foresters to rethink and reorganize their forest practices to prevent forest degradation, to improve social conditions for workers and local populations, and to provide resources for a growing constituency of companies, public procurers, and individuals aiming for sustainable consumption. FSC applies 10 Principles for Forest Stewardship, specified in criteria and indicators. These support the three areas of IUCN’s draft work programme, as this publication shows.
