Kimberly-Clark FSC certified facial tissue receives Taiwanese environmental award
On 26 March 2013, Kimberly-Clark Taiwan announced that their FSC certified facial tissues Kleenex brand have been awarded the Taiwanese Green Mark by the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA). The Green Mark was established in 1992 as a government certification for environmentally-friendly products, and the FSC certified Kleenex facial tissue is the first virgin fiber tissue product to receive it.
“Kimberly-Clark Taiwan has demonstrated their leadership and their commitment to FSC. The Green Mark from the Taiwanese EPA is an important milestone for both Kimberly-Clark Taiwan and FSC,” said Alistair Monument, FSC Asia Pacific Regional Director. “We at FSC will continue to collaborate with government authorities, businesses, NGOs and other stakeholders to achieve responsible forestry in the world.”
In 2009, Kimberly-Clark Kleenex brand was the first tissue brand in Taiwan to become FSC certified. By 2011, all Kleenex products had become FSC certified. “Kimberly-Clark Corporation has always strived towards protecting global forest resources,” said Varaporn Dhamcharee, Managing Director of Kimberly-Clark Taiwan. “Our aspiration is not only to provide consumers with best-in-class quality and most trusted products, but also to provide them with the most sustainable and greenest products”.
