A programme dedicated to delivering a stronger, simpler chain of custody system for companies of all sizes.
© FSC A.C.The FSC system has a chain of custody component covering more than 50,000 companies worldwide buying, selling, and trading FSC-certified material.
Our industry-leading chain of custody system offers monitoring and enforcement tools that help ensure companies keep certified material and non-certified material sources separated throughout the supply chain.
For us, achieving this level of success is significant, but it is also important to ensure that our integrity is maintained at a large scale. The programme works with the Trademark Programme, and the Chain of Custody Programme, on a number of projects to strengthen our supply chain, and oversees initiatives aimed at addressing inaccurate claims in the FSC system.
Online Claims Platform (OCP)
The Online Claims Platform (OCP) is a voluntary digital tool that provides timely information about FSC products and the organizations that produce them. The OCP supports the administration of the FSC chain of custody, as well as providing a method to validate information on FSC transactions. It is free of charge for certificate holders.
Sample testing of wood products allows buyers, sellers and traders to ensure that the products they receive from suppliers are what they are claimed to be. Since 2011, this joint venture between FSC and the United States Department of Agriculture, Forest Service’s Forest Products Laboratory (FPL), has served as a reliable, quality management measure that provides producers added assurance against inaccurate claims.
FSC/ASI Integrity Project
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), in collaboration with Accreditation Services International (ASI), is conducting a global assessment of inaccurate claims in high-risk supply chains. It is also piloting new solutions to managing high-risk supply chains in China, with the aim of expanding successful initiatives to other countries in the future.
