Objective(s) of the document: The objective of FSC-PRO-60-002 is to provide a clear, transparent, and unambiguous methodology for developing, maintaining, revising,
evaluating, and approving FSC National Risk Assessments (NRAs) for FSC Controlled Wood. The procedure contains requirements for an NRA development process, whilst requirements for risk assessments are included in the addendum FSC-PRO-60-002a FSC National Risk Assessment Framework. FSC-PRO-60-002b provide a comprehensive list of all FSC approved CW documents to be implemented by companies sourcing controlled wood following FSC-STD-40-005.
Purpose of the revision: The purpose of this process was to revise and develop requirements to resolve membership concerns about the controlled wood standard FSC-STD-40-005, and difficulties in interpreting requirements for risk assessments.,FSC-PRO-60-002 was revised to improve and clarify the process for NRA development, facilitate the development of NRAs in countries without FSC network partners, and provide local stakeholders a transparent process for contributing input to risk designations in areas where they live and work.,FSC-PRO-60-002a was developed to establish a globally-consistent, and rigorous approach for risk assessments made for the
five controlled wood categories.,FSC-PRO-60-002b was revised from its previous format to remain consistent with changes made to other documents.
