Objective(s) of the document: This standard provides the requirements to be followed by certification bodies when auditing
operations and sites, and organization’s verification programs and due diligence system, and
integrating the findings to come to a reliable certification decision. This standard thereby aims
to reduce the level of subjectivity and increase the consistency between sampling levels
implemented by different certification bodies across different situations.
Purpose of the revision: The purpose of this revision is to update requirements related to the audit of organizations
implementing the controlled wood standard FSC-STD-40-005, following the revision of that
