Imaflora/Rainforest Alliance awards the world’s first FSC Project Certification for a television show set

Rainforest Alliance’s first-ever FSC Project Certification for a television show set was awarded to a television music show broadcast in Brazil called “Sr. Brasil”, presented by Rolando Boldrin. This represents the first certified set for a TV show in the world.

One of the materials used in this project is Sumauna plywood, which originates from certified forests in the Brazilian Amazon.

This FSC certified set for Sr. Brasil show was launched by Rolando Boldrin on Thursday, April 5th at 10pm.

In the show Sr. Brasil presented images of the certified forest where the wood was harvested from.

Mr. Boldrin is enthusiastic about the certification: “There is worldwide concern about the environment and being able to pioneer this important project is an honor”.

The project was created by Sr. Brasil producer and set designer, Patrícia Maia Boldrin and was audited and certified by Imaflora (Instituto de Manejo e Certificação Florestal e Agrícola) in association with Rainforest Alliance.

Imaflora’s certification coordinator Daniele Rua explains that the project represents an important start.

“I believe that the case of Sr. Brasil set will work as a model for the certification of other sets in and outside television. Undoubtedly this proposal can be replicated”.
